Hello! My name is Wendy Keeton and I work at Sam Rayburn I.S.D., which is located in Ivanhoe, Texas. I am beginning my 31st year at Sam Rayburn. I have taught AP Computer Science using Java,C++ and Pascal as the programming language. Our computer science team won state in 2003. It was the first state academic championship at Sam Rayburn. I am also the District UIL Coordinator, as well as the Director of Support Services for the district. The district currently has five labs and many wireless labs with laptops,IPads and Chrome Books. We run Windows 16 network and have a Meraki wireless access point as well as switches for the network. We have interactive whiteboards in most classrooms.

Qualifications:

  • *Microsoft Certification Professional Product Specialist
  • *Assists in integrating technology into the existing instructional curriculum
  • *Provides guidance in the selection of technical equipment and materials used within instructional programs
  • *Provides direction in the effective use of technology, including individual training and staff development activities
  • *Supervises and assists with the bidding process, purchase, distribution, maintenance, and installation of hardware, software, and other technological equipment and materials
  • *Maintains a Windows 16 Network
  • *Disseminates information regarding current research and significant developments in computer education at the state and national level
  • *Articulates the district's mission and goals in the area of technology to the community and solicits its support in realizing the mission

Instructional Technology Specialist
My goal is to help Sam Rayburn ISD teachers successfully use technology in the classroom to support student learning and engagement and to promote college and career readiness.

I hope to do this by:

  • supporting 21st-century learning needs,
  • supporting and modeling effective use and integration of technology in instructional programs,
  • providing professional learning opportunities,
  • by co-designing learning experiences that integrate technology TEKS,
  • by finding digital resources for our curriculum,
  • by designing curriculum-based multimedia projects
